Clifton House is Belfast’s most historic meeting venue, offering an inspiring space for a wide range of events including seminars, conferences, strategic planning sessions and private fine dining.
All who visit this stunning building will have the opportunity to learn about its history through our interpretative centre, which features unique archive and artifacts, some dating back to the early 1700s.
Despite its heritage routes, Clifton House has all the modern facilities you need for the smooth running of your event, including free wifi for your guests and complimentary AV and video conferencing equipment. With in-house tech support, Clifton House can facilitate your hybrid events, when you may need to use ‘Room and Zoom’ for your meeting or conference.

Our Rooms
Boardroom
Our spacious boardroom has retained many of its original features and has panoramic views over the city.
This facility combines historic artefacts and portraits within an atmospheric venue space.
The room can be set up in a number of ways to suit your event.
Boardroom style: Up to 20 delegates can be seated spatially around the impressive boardroom table perfect for board meetings or strategic planning sessions.
Theatre style: for up to 60 delegates suitable for conferences, AGM’s and lectures.
Cabaret style: for up to 40 people seated at round tables for training sessions or interactive group work.
The Boardroom also creates a wonderful ambiance and atmosphere for intimate fine dining.
McCracken Suite
The McCracken Suite is named after the McCracken family, who were instrumental in the fundraising, construction and running of Clifton House when it was the original Poor House of Belfast.
It is located on the ground floor, and has an adjoining lobby area, perfect for networking, catering purposes or as a break-out facility for group work.

Boardroom Style: up to 20 delegates can be seated, ideal for board meetings or strategic planning sessions.
Theatre Style: Up to 40 delegates, suitable for conferences, AGM’s and lectures.
Cabaret Style: Up to 30 people seated at round tables perfect for training or interactive group work.
Reception Areas
When booking an event with Clifton House, you can also make use of the venue’s reception areas for guests. Clifton House boasts a warm and welcoming entrance hall, where you can meet and greet your guests on arrival. Alternatively, the reception area can be hired separately for events such as a launch, drinks reception or musical recital.
The venue also has a smaller first floor landing where guests can enjoy a tea and coffee break during your event.

Catering
Clifton House uses a range of external catering organisations, which means we can tailor refreshments to each individual event.
From breakfast meetings, to fast and efficient working lunches or fine dining, the Clifton House catering team will ensure that the finest local menu options are always available to you. Our friendly staff will be on hand to assist throughout your event and ensure that all aspects of this service runs smoothly.
Clifton House also works hard to ensure all our events are sustainable, via recycling programmes, reduction of food waste and by using, in the main, catering partners who are also social enterprises.

Enhance Your Experience
Your guests will have the opportunity to learn about the history of this fascinating building through our interpretative centre, which features unique archive and artefacts, some dating back to the early 1700s.
To enhance your event we offer brief tours or presentations on the history of Clifton House. These are particularly suited for staff development days or to enrich your CPD and/or training events and can be tailored to your agenda or subject matter.
All your event needs will be looked after by our personal Events Officer, from room set-up to advising and booking your catering requirements. Our facilities include free onsite car parking, free WiFi and use of the video-conferencing system and AV equipment, to accommodate your hybrid event. A complimentary service of tea / coffee is also provide on arrival.
