New Chief Executive for Belfast Charitable Society

Paula Reynolds has been appointed as the new Chief Executive for Belfast Charitable Society, one of Ireland’s oldest charitable institutions.
Paula was previously Director of Business Development for Sector Matters, which is Northern Ireland’s first social enterprise to offer business support services to the voluntary and community sector and SMEs. Alongside management and business development responsibilities Paula also delivered area and organisational planning support in the form of Strategic, Operational and Sustainability plans for groups across Northern Ireland. Before heading up Sector Matters, Paula held the position of Director of Member Services at the Northern Ireland Council for Voluntary Action (NICVA) for seven years.
When asked what attracted Paula to the position of CEO with the Society, she said “The opportunity to work for an organisation with a rich and unique history and one that has been instrumental in developing social change across Belfast for more than 260 years. Also the challenge of managing and developing the current parts of the Society – event management, residential care, philanthrophic work, building, archive and social history conservation.”
Her initial tasks will be the coordination of the new Strategic Plan developed by the Board, setting up strategic partnerships to ensure that the charitable and philanthropic work has the most impact and getting to know all aspects of the business.
