Mary Ann McCracken (1770-1866) was a hero of Belfast- an abolitionist, philanthropist and reformer who championed the disadvantaged at home and abroad.  Much of her work was inspired by her close reading of the philosopher, writer and human rights advocate Mary Wollstonecraft. To mark Mary Ann’s birthday, we will be joined by Bee Rowlatt of the Wollstonecraft Society to discuss the lives and legacies of these two remarkable women.

This very special evening will take place on Tuesday, 20 June at 7pm. Hosted by the Mary Ann McCracken Foundation, this free event will take place at Clifton House, which played a central role in Mary Ann’s life, and broadcast live via Zoom.

Note: Online ticket holders will receive a Zoom link 24 hours prior to the start of the event
