Philanthropy Past & Present: From the ‘Founding Fathers’ to the 21st Century Online Talk

To mark the 268th anniversary of the foundation of the Belfast Charitable in 1752 this talk will explore the lives and motivations of those ‘Founding Fathers’ who were present in the George Tavern when the Society was formed, as well as the key early members who fought for over 20 years to construct the Poor House. The talk will conclude with an overview of some of the ongoing work of Belfast Charitable Society today.
